Holy fruity taste! This beer definitely has a lot of flavor to it. It’s a wheat beer with cherry juice in it. The more and more I drink this as I write the more I love it. The aftertaste hints cherries and isn’t bitter at all. The smell of this beer is….yes you guessed it….sweet. It’s a great poolside beer or it’s great anytime it’s above 75 degrees. But, Bell’s only launches this beer once a year and it’s in May. So, stock up for the summer folks.

Bell’s is out of Michigan and they even used Michigan based cherries into this beer. Bell’s says the beer’s “Cherries add a subtle tartness and bright counterpoint to the other flavors, enhancing Pooltime’s fruity character and making it the perfect beer for all summer activities.

I’m not usually one to go for a lower alcohol percentage beer. I know…shocker. But, to be honest I was first enticed by the beer’s label. It’s got a nice photo/drawing of someone who looks like they could shred the guitar left-handed.

This beer is known for its raspberry taste and lightness. It’s a lager with a fruity aroma and taste that’s refreshing on a nice summer day. Next time I head to the beach, I know what I’m grabbing.

Abita says it’s “a lager brewed with real raspberries added after filtration.” You definitely get the taste of fruit and they even suggest pairing it with a dessert or having the beer as a dessert (don’t mind if I do).
